전기화학적방법은 색소원을 사용하는 대신 전기 매개체를 이용하여 글루코
스의 산화효소와 전극이 반응한 전자를 측정하는 방법입니다. 이 방법은
색깔을 측정하지 않기 때문에 적혈구의 방해작용도 없고 혈액을 닦을 필요
도 없습니다. 현재 대표적인 전기화학적 혈당측정기는 Roche의 Accutrend
Sensor, Arkray(일본)의 Glucocard, Abbott(메디센스)의 Precision QID 등
이 있습니다.
몇 년 전까지만 해도 주로 광도측정법이 주류를 이루었으나, 최근에는 대부
분 전기화학적 혈당측정기가 주류를 이루고 있습니다. 이러한 가장 큰 이유
는 혈액량 감소에 대한 요구 때문입니다.
그러므로 권장할만한 일반적인 제품으로는 Roche의 Glucotrend2,Abbott(메디
센스)의 Precision QID, Lifescan의 SureStep 이며
혈액량이 적게 필요하고 측정이 편리한 제품으로는 Roche의 Accutrend Sensor와

액티는 같은 시험지를 사용하고 있으므로 전혀 문제가 없습니다
